Default Disconnection with the world bin and 1017 on the client

Problems with the world bin (same thing on winblows too)... the console spits out:

(sometimes Unknown opcode 0x3521 size:2056)
Client disconnected
Removing client from ip:67.33.175.71 port: 1477

This happens while the client is loading world... I have two machines that do this one XP (I know about the XP issue) one 98SE. I also have a friend also running 98SE try to connect with the same results. We both have our datarates jacked up to 10.0, I am using a linksys router and have all the necessary port forwarded... BUT I disconnected it to run tests and we still get 1017 anyway. My friend also says that he gets 1017 when trying the eqemu login server.

Is there some correlation between the patched clients and the world server? Would it help if I ran a packet logger so it catches packets prior to disconnection?

Thanks
