Default boot5zones prob wit 4.2

dunno if anybody else is having problems, tried search and found little...

every time i try to load boot5zones.bat it pops up wit a send error report for xp.

this is wut it says
AppName: zone.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: zone.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00069faa

everything up to this point is ok, dunno wut i did wrong

i tried the ALTER TABLE variables ADD COLUMN ts timestamp NULL; but it comes up with error 1060: duplicate column name 'ts'

i dropped the old database from 4.1 and sourced the 4.2 db.sql, changed the ini's and edited the .bat

db.ini
[Database]
host=localhost
user=imasianman
password=******
database=eq
compression=off

loginserver.ini
[LoginServer]
loginserver=localhost
loginserver2=localhost
loginport=5999
loginport2=5999
worldname=test
worldaddress=localhost
locked=false
account=
password=

miniloginaccounts.ini
127.0.0.1 eqemu eqemu

boot5zones.bat
start zone . localhost 7995 localhost
start zone . localhost 7996 localhost
start zone . localhost 7997 localhost
start zone . localhost 7998 localhost
start zone . localhost 7999 localhost

I'm having this problem as well. Zone is crashing on start up. All the minilogin and world are starting up fine with only the standard "loading eq time of day..." error.

Zones cmd window reads:

EQEmu 0.4.2 eRAMNotes Sucks!
Loading Variables, zone names, items, loottables & NPCs...
EMuShareMem.dll loaded
Loading NPCTypes from database...

<Error report dialog popup>

Note: my npc_types table is currently completely empty.

Running XP pro w Athlon XP processor.

i had the same prob so i got a thought in my head about taking the old zone.exe from 4.1 and coping that over the "new version" from 4.2 and i ran it and got the emushare.dll error message so i went and overwrote that file doing the same thing i did to zone.exe taking it from the old version and it loaded up just fine and i was able to use the emu just a new version of the world.exe so there is something buggy with the "new" zone and emushare files.

just my oberservation... works for me

Did you copy the spells file to your eqemu dir like the readme said?

Default Same error adding the spells_en doesn't help

I am having the same error and adding the spells text file into the directory doesn't help with the boot5zones crashing. It seems to be able to reach the loading of the dll then it crashes. Usuing Windows Xp currently not sure if it crashes on any previous platforms as well

There are a few alterations that need to be made to your DB if you are upgrading from 4.1. Resource with the 4.2 db.sql and that should fix the npc_types error.

I am having this same problem. I waited until 4.2 to even start and it was working fine until yesterday. Then I downloaded the new admin console (3.8 ) and used it to make some changes. Then I started having troubles with the database (errors starting the admin console) so I decided to trash the db and start over. Did that and now, boot5zones.bat crashes. Very frustrating as it was working fine this time yesterday. I haven't changed any of the .ini files or edited the .bat since I first got it working. Yes, I moved spells_en.txt.

***edit***

fixed it...had to use db.sql from 4.1

sure wish I knew what broke it LOL.

Easily fixed had the exact same problem on my WinXP machine. Downloaded the telmet-eqemu database from a link somewhere on the board, fixed all the problems with zones.exe crashing. Plus don't forget to copy your eq_spells.txt file.
