Default Bind Sight & Harmony causing aggro

This was posted over on the Project EQ forums, but I hadn't noticed any activity on it over there. I also haven't been able to find any posts about these issues over here, so I thought I'd mention them.

As I recall from my days of playing on Live, neither of these spells should cause aggro under any circumstances.

As I'm seeing it on TGC right now, Bind Sight causes aggro when it lands. I haven't actually had it get resisted yet, so I don't know what happens if it fails. In any case, the fact that it doesn't cause aggro is what makes this spell so useful. Right now, there isn't a whole lot that I can use it for.

From what I can recall, harmony shouldn't cause aggro if it gets resisted. On TGC, mobs are attacking if they resist the spell, as if I had hit them with a detrimental spell.

Thanks!

I seem to remember harmony/lull/etc causing agro if resisted, but not bind sight.

They may have added the harmony agro later on, to provide some risk for people travelling through higher lvl zones.

I wonder if there are patch notes archived somewhere on the internet.

Aggro on a resisted Harmony makes sense to me. I wonder how well I'm remembering it from live now, too. That was quite a while ago.

I'm almost certain I remember Bind Sight not causing it, though. I used it and harmony together to do pulls in Kedge on many, many occasions.

Well, I found http://everquest.allakhazam.com/history/patches.html . It goes back to april 1999, so if the change was mentioned, it should be in there somewhere.

Hmmm, I see nothing in there. Searching for "Bind" "Sight" and "Harmony" turns up nothing, or just nothing relevant.

The raw spell data for both spells has them listed as "unresistable" and "beneficial".

Harmony of Nature, on the other hand, IS resistable. It's also a single target spell effective on mobs up to level 65, while Harmony is an AE effective on mobs up to level 40.

. . . and now I'm seeing plenty of discussion in the past about harmony. By the way, it appears to be working just fine for me now, and so I'm guessing that I'm mistaken in my report that there was anything wrong with it in the first place. I've been using it to pull Tizmaks in GD without any issues for about 2 days now.

The only problem I have to report then is Bind Sight. Perhaps the fix for this spell is similar to the fix for Harmony?
