Unhappy eqgame.exe crashes immediately

I am running Windows XP64 and just did a fresh install of Titanium Edition but as soon as I try and run EQ eqgame crashes without any information in the error given but the dbg.log says:

I am not sure what to try, I have tried using the Compatibility mode but it doesn't seem to change anything.

I am running:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00Ghz
4.00 GB Ram
500GB Hard Drive
Nvidia 8800GT 512Mb
Windows XP Pro x64

Any help would be appreciated.

I actually have the same problem of the client immediately crashing, but this pops up:

The thing is, I logged on last night and leveled about 5 levels, went linkdead, and the game froze. I have to close the game using ctrl+alt+del, and i tried to open the client again and it keeps crashing.

On my vista32 machine, I reduced the desktop resolution to 1024x768 and made sure the eqgame runs in window mode. That fixed the error.

My laptop runs Nvidia 8800gts and 4 gigs memory, and at first eqgame crashed. Try the above.

So how do I force the game to run in windowed mode? Is there some line i need to add to the eqclient.ini?

Ok, well I finally got it to run. But I had to set my desktop resolution to 1280x1024... which really distorts everything on my 22" widescreen. with that and then editing my ini file so that the videomode = 1 and windowedmode = true and it seems to be running correctly now.

I have tried matching my options to my screen resolution, changing my ini file to windowed mode both true and false and altering the video. none of this has made a difference. I repeatedly get the eqgame.exe error over and over.

the game worked fine last night.

Someone help pls?

Something obviously happened since last night if it has been working fun up till now. Have you tried rebooting your PC? Have you checked how much memory you have available? You will want at least 700MBs to even think about starting EQ with luclin models on.

Also, you might want to check out this list of fixes that could possibly help out:

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25327

Otherwise, I would heavily focus on what you changed since last night, or what happened, because if it did work and doesn't now, it has to be on your end.

Make sure to give more details on exactly what is happening and where it is crashing if none of this info resolves your issue.

I know you solved your problem, but actually, you DID get useful info, so I am posting this for others to reference. In your log that you posted above you got:

2008-06-07 02:24:56 Resolution was capped at 1280 x 720
2008-06-07 02:24:56 Resolution verified 1280 x 720, 32 bits ... diff was 1000 from 0 modes

Right here it's telling you it's a video problem.

Run the OPTIONS program or go directly into eqclient.ini and set the resolution low, like 800 X 600 and work you way up from there.
