The wanker stayed up till 4:30am fighting with OpenGL because mipmapping was turned on... Ahh, the power of sleep deprivation. Enjoy, enjoy, OpenEQ is on its way!

if you use the zones or any other of their work isnt it just as illegal?and if your not going to use their zones, quest, npcs, or any of their work, make a whole new game, why would you do it on open eq/open zone and not a game engine? i dont get the point.. even if you remake eq its just as illegal, so all openeq sounds good for is making a new mmorpg, so shouldnt it be called MMORPG MAKER 2005 or something instead?

Why would it be illegal?
OpenEQ simple opens up and displays files you already have. It's no more illegal than openoffice being able to work with microsoft word documents.
Of course if you wish to use openeq to display everquest zones you need to have obtained the zone files legally but that's no different to any other program and nothing to do with the openeq program itsself.

word docs are openly free for anyone to read, but soe doesnt want people using their work so others can enjoy it for free while others have to pay. and if you dont use any eq zones, or any npc's or quest's since all that and anything related to norrath is copywrighted, your server wont have anything to do with eq. so then theres the question, why use open eq? its just another game engine.

Wrong, before openoffice cames out, if you didnt have Word or Wordpad, you were kinda fucked, why you think doc is an "open format" ? Only because doc format exist since ages ...
OpenEQ is not illegal, its what you do with it that is illegal, but to be sure you will understand those words, lets make a little compare, like, DVD burner are not illegal, its what you do with your DVD burner that is illegal.
