Default Two Noob Questions.

Is there a way to get the server to load the changes to the database without resetting the server? I looked through the commands in the database and I didn't see any. I just want to be able to make the changes to the table via Navicat and use those new/changed items/zones without a reset.

The second question is a bit embarassing but...where at the files that a world uses to draw a zone(is it the ITfiles? I can't find them in my system)?

Sorry a third question as well, while I'm at it. What is the file I change the starting zone at? Is the only way to remove the starting_zone entries and set them to the one starting area I want? I was thinking there had to be a file somewhere that told which zone to fire up at launch.

My folder is C:\eqemu\

Thanks for any info. If anyone can shed some light on ANY of those questions I would really appreciate it.

Depends on what you change. For some things you can reload some you can't #reloadstatic and #repop for things you can.

*.eqg and *.s3d containers contain the graphical assets for the game (*.pak too but those are only used for a small fraction of non-zone assets).

There's no way to really do the third thing without either modifying the database or modifying source. Database is the far easier way as it's simply one query.

Thanks for the info!

I did notice that some things took effect after rezoning but I didn't catch the reloadstatic command.

I was unable to find the .eqg files and .s3d files other than in my client application. After I found them I couldn't find a program to open them :blushes:.

I was able to change the starting zone just messing around with the start_zone table. I figured that would be the easiest way. The only downfall is that a person can not choose to start from their original starting area if they wanted to. I suppose I could set up an NPC to port them there after they come to the zone I have set up currently.

If you look through George's tools, I think he might have something that will parse the zone files for you.
