MYSQL Question

What does it mean when your MYSQL drops the connection?
It says when i run World.exe=

Database error: Lost connection. attempting to recover...
DB Query error #2006: MySQL server has gone away

Any ideas. It never did this before my harddrive crapped out on me.

find my.ini (windows) or my.cnf (linux, /etc/my.cnf) and set 8M instead if 1M to
set-variable = max_allowed_packet=1M

->

set-variable = max_allowed_packet=8M

relaunch mysql after you did this.
