Greetings!
I have a stable and frequently updated private server that has been running continuously now for over a year. The server is not accessible through the public login server so you need an invite and our client to connect. This limits the population but ensures that the players we do have understand the culture and want to be a part of it.
It is a casual friendly environment made up of a few dozen friends with the intention of everyone being a part of the same team and working together. We raid once or twice a week and are currently working our way through Kunark content, getting epics and trying to finish up Plane of Sky. We will most likely be stopping at Velious but may potentially include Luclin depending on interest.
This is a work in progress PEQ compatible "retro" server that uses a custom RoF2 client. I have spent way too much time reverting zones to their original state, editing quests, tuning NPCs and editing loot tables to present a "classic" and familiar feel but with much of the drudgery of the "classic" experience removed.
Some major differences between this server and "classic": Boxing is allowed up to 6 toons but whenever possible grouping with others is encouraged. Armies of mages/pet classes played by one person are not tolerated so no more than 2 per player in a group. MQ2 or any other cross character scripting or helper apps are not tolerated. Toons in general are more powerful but NPCs are also more powerful in return. We have the first tier of AAs available once you reach lvl 51. We have a mostly functional bazaar that is accessible via the EC tunnel. Halflings can be Rangers and Paladins. Gnomes can be SKs and Paladins. The Beastlord class launched with Kunark. We have level caps in place with specific goals that must be met in order to raise the cap which is currently at lvl 54. Once we clear Plane of Sky I will raise the cap to 57. XP is slightly accelerated. HP/Mana regen is slightly accelerated. Out of combat regen kicks in after 3 minutes. There are far too many differences to list but in general it's a much more casual friendly game but still maintains a "classic" and familiar vibe and significant challenge for those players that fit that niche.
Check out our discord if you're interested in giving it a shot. We are always looking for new, regular players.
