Angry Could use a little help

-My friend and I have been pounding away on this for a while.
-We have it so that the world is visible on the login screen, I recieve no errors while using world.exe or boot5zones.
-Only error I get is the 1017 bane of my soul error.

We are running a 5.8 version of eqemu (yeah i know it would be easier with 6.2 but we dont have a version of eq that runs at the proper patch dates for that)

Here are my files relevant to this (first thing i have a question on is under login file I have heard that we need a loginport=XXXX (depends what you use on version you are running, we have 5.8, should we be running loginport 5998?)

**********************************************
[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqemulator.net
#loginserver2=eqemulator.net
loginport=5998
#loginport2=5996
worldname=Lemurland_5.8
worldaddress=xxxxxxxxxxxx (i use a no-ip forward address)
locked=false
account=XXXXXXXXXX (eqemu acct)
password=XXXXXXX (eqemu pw)

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=20
Unavailzone=

[ChatChannelServer]
worldshortname=
chataddress=
chatport=
*******************************************
[Database]
host=localhost
user=XXXX (server registration user)
password=XXXX (server registration pw)
database=eq
*******************************************
start zone . XXXXXXXX 8780 XXXXXXXX (ip address on both sides is the same
start zone . XXXXXXXX 8781 XXXXXXXX it is the forwarding address used
start zone . XXXXXXXX 8782 XXXXXXXX earlier for loginserver.ini
start zone . XXXXXXXX 8783 XXXXXXXX worldadress)
start zone . XXXXXXXX 8784 XXXXXXXX
exit
cls

echo You did not copy the spells_en.txt from your everquest directory to this one. Please do so or zones will crash on startup.

Version Number: SEQ2AE67
Extended Version Number: EQ0B1BC97264901B8A1BB74D3E1E2727A6B8291587

******************************************
4/9/2005 was the last time the version i am using was patched

******************************************
Should also be noted that I am hosting the server on the same comp I am trying to use to log into the server.
******************************************
Should also be noted I chose not to use perl (I do not want any of the quests in my world)
******************************************
I am also behind a linxsys router. I have taken the steps listed to open ports and am using the no-ip function to redirect
******************************************
Please tell me where I could be going wrong.... I was able to get most of this going, but I am stuck at the damn 1017.

Thanks

Hello,

You don't need to post in 2 subject for have 1 answer...
If you read few post you can understand this :
2 login server are available : One for 0.6.2/3 (port 599
Other for 0.6.0 (port 5994)
I don't know if a 0.5.8 Login server is available...
But i don't think a everquest patched in 09/04/2005 is compatible with 0.5.8.
When you don't have port NAT problem, a 1017 is often error for incompatible version of client with eqemu.

I hope someone can help you, eqemu's devs support only last version (0.6.3).

Default resolution?

Perhaps you could get someone to make a CD with the 9-13 files needed for 6.2/6.3.

Is it legal to give these to someone who owns a licensed copy of EQ and just needs a certain update version? If so, maybe someone can post them on the web... Just a thought, since I see quite a few people with this issue.

Jieseng.

One time more...

Legal or no, that not the question (Some many post here about that)
Forum rules say : Speak, ask or distribute (even in PM) everquest files is warez and forbbiden.
You can be ban for break this rules.

Sorry, never saw that before. I am fairly new.

Guess you're out of luck 'till the programmers update to the newest patch. You may as well keep your EQ updated, so when emu is updated to the newer patch you will have the files already
