No server listed private local lan

Not really a noob but it's been more than 10 years since I ran eqemu last so I may as well be one!

I have eqemu and client on the same machine and I'm slowly getting a server working. Started yesterday afternoon but couldn't figure out how to get the server running properly as private LAN one (no errors I mean) until this morning. Now I figured out how to set the eqgame shortcut and add "patchme" to it so that I get the old login screen instead of the launcher one.

So how I can run the client, login with name and password, show the EMPTY server list and now I'm stuck. Can't seem to figure out why the server isn't being listed.

I've set all my addresses to 127.0.x.x instead of regular internet ones (localhost). and Ports to 5999 (default was 599. I've missed something but can't seem to figure out what it was. Any clues? Should I post any files for a looksee? If so, which ones?

Well I managed to get the server listing to show the server by changing its port from 5999 back to 5998 now the client shows the server but I just get a black window forever and a "client disconnected" message in the server window. It says a "Titanium" client connected but I am running the F2P client.

I have the server set to 5998 and the client set to 5999 which of course isn't going to work. I set the client to 5998 but then the server listing page won't even show up.

Well it's been a while so in the meantime I've been playing around with other things quite a bit. But I came back to it yesterday and restarted with a new install.

I've learned a bit more about the lan loginserver and I think mine is actually working properly (or almost anyway). I'm still at the point where the server list shows my server and I hit the button to go there and it just shows a black screen forever and I have to use task manager to kill the eqclient.

The login server window shows me connecting to the loginserver and doesn't show any errors of warnings but when I hit that button to join the server this is what the log shows:

And that is it. I have the feeling it's actually a normal login response and the client disconnected message just means disconnected from the login server since it handed the connection to the game server.

When I check the database login_account contains information for whichever account I tried to log in with but I see nothing in the accounts table at all.

Any clues?
