Exclamation Looking to return ?

Looking to do it right this time , and put forth the effort to beat my OLD time high of.
30-40 people

Looking to go out to BEST BUY here soon to purchase the best COMPUTER/SERVER for your money

here is what I am stuck with

* Should I buy a LAPTOP and let it sit in the corner and do the server thing
* Should I buy a DESKTOP and let it sit and use it for my server
* What direction should I go when purchasing a NEW computer to do what EQEMU needs it to do ?
* Looking to spend around 700-1200 bucks ?

EQEmu server runs great on my Windows7 i7 laptop. Still using titanium client. Then again, I am using it as a test server and not getting any load from any other players...

You are doing it backwards, I doubt any player has ever seen server specs and decided to play on a server simply because the server is fast, despite how shitty the content is. Load up a server on a spare crappy comp and use that money for beer while you make content that will entice people to play on your server.

Either way, I dont think the statements "best computer for your money" and "going to Bestbuy" are very compatible.

Red is a shitty color to use to highlight stuff

LOL - I run a Windows virtual server on a Win7 x64 HTPC as my EQ server. For my small setup it works just fine when I don't mess it up!
