Default Apocalypse - Pure Progression

Hey guys! So, I've been working for about a week on bringing a new server up. It's going to be a progression server, and as of right now, stopping at the Planes. I'm trying to do something that I haven't experienced on other servers, but at the same time making the experience as entertaining and as fluid as possible.

The way the server will work is like this :

Starting a level 1, you are handed a weapon by the server greeter. This weapon is not a lore item, so you can definitely have more than 1 if you would like.

While at level 1, this may not be the best item you have seen, just wait. While killing monsters, you will gain tokens. These tokens will be used to upgrade your weapon. There are going to be 7 'tiers' of these weapons. Once you hit the last tier, your weapon will not only look cool, but it will leave you with plenty of pride. Will it be easy? No, but it will definitely be fun. The drop rates for the tokens aren't outrageous, but they aren't impossible. The last tier of weapon will have augments, so you can further separate yourself from the pack by adding augments.

The weapons are designed in mind that you will be able to 3-4 man most of the content at 70.

All of the bosses in the planar progression will probably keep their original scripts from EQEMU, with modified loot tables. If the demand requires it, or if people just want something else, zones after the planes will be unlocked.

Of course a buff bot will be there, but there will not however be a #zone command.

Thanks in advance, and the server should be expected to be up before new years, but we all know how things like that work.

Any suggestions, big or small would definitely be of help.

Just an update. Due to the fact that family has been in town the last few days for the holidays, work has reached a screeching standstill on the server. While this won't push the release too far past new years, I wouldn't expect it before than. Much rather'd have a finish project than a bug-filled headache. Hope everyone isn't too stressed for the holidays, more updates to come.
