When I load EQ game i get a cursor and a black screen??

hey guys, its strange, eg seems to run fine and there are no crashes, just when I run the program i get the eq2 cursor and a black screen, doesnt hang just nothing happens

any clues as to how to fix this? ty

i tried changing the resolution, but it was the same thing, when i right clicked in certain areas the cursor changed to a cross type curser with 4 arrows

Have you tried changing your eqclient.ini to load EQ in Windowed mode or in full screen? Also, are you sure you have DirectX9c installed?

i have a far more recent version of direct x installed, doesnt that matter much>

You need to also install DirectX 9c. One comes with the Titanium install if you haven't installed that version yet. I am sure you can find downloads for it elsewhere as well if needed.

i installed trev but to now avail, any other suggestions? and how do i change the eqclient.ini to windowed?

press alt+enter when you are on the black screen, goes into windowed

I had the same issue, and this worked

The alt-enter solved my problem as well, however is there any permanent fix to this?
