Default Help with Setting up Emulator

Hey, just wondering if anybody would be kind enough to help me out with getting EQ Emulator set up. I followed all the directions exactly and when I click on the shortcut it attempts to patch and then gives me this message "Error: Could not download to file. Please rerun EverQuest.exe to try again." Any idea what is the problem? I did what the guide said and yet this still happens. I'm feeling pretty vexed at this point and hoping that I can get this fixed soon. Looking forward to any assistance, thks!

Nothing should attempt to download. It shouldn't be "EverQuest.exe" that runs. It should be "eqlaunch.exe". Check your shortcut again.

It's eqgame.exe, not eqlaunch.exe or everquest.exe.
