Ok I had thought about this a long time ago when I was first interested in the project and I ran acrossed a thread about it and fired the idea back up. But what do you think of a Xbox server for EQEmu. The Xbox will be running Linux most likely not Redhat maybe SuSe or I belive it was debian was also a good option.

Here are some stats. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel Celeron 733 MHz CPU
64 MB of RAM (enough for most Linux applications)
nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card (no relivance)
Dolby Digital AC97 sound card (no relivance)
8 or 10 GB hard disk
DVD drive (no relivance)
10/100 Ethernet
4 USB ports
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know the stats are really not so great especially only having 64Mb of RAM but I was thinking maybe it is possible to get the little USB 'thumb drives' those little flash memory buggers that plug into your USB slot and somehow (through the wonders of linux of course) get them to be used as RAM.
Since I have 2 of them and only really need 1 I can test it out if I can find out a way to do it. Maybe some of you linux experts can figure something out. :P But I was thinking if anything it could make a nice server for MYSQL since that seems to be quite processor intense when I was trying to load some stuff from it with my 700Mhz PoS celeron.
I do plan on buying an Xbox to use for a MYSQL server and maybe run world on it too since I havnt noticed it to take up much processor. So I guess why not get it out of the way of the zones.
Also here is a link if you need some more stuff explained.
