Mem, I'll agree that the colors are kinda interesting: that whole road-oil-in-a-rain-puddle kind of look... but all-in-all it looks cheap, like you typed some text in photoshop and applied a filter or two. Its a good foundation, add some pizzaz by ditching the square background and making it more organic. Add some background images - looks like you're a 'Wolf's Rain' fan from your Avatar (awesome anime IMHO); remember the old'skool gothic look of Jagara's keep and troops? Yea, I'd throw in some fractals or goth patterns in the background...
