Well, with one connection, you only need one cable modem, unless you are purchasing an extra ip from the cable provider. Immensely superior, but costs more. Most likely you are going to end up with a cable modem - > hub -> both computers. I'd suggest buying a linksys or dlink cable router, or something of that sort... If you are indeed going to have 2 completely seperate cable modems, nevermind then. Note that your computers will not be directly networked together that way though, they may as well be in completely different houses unless you put seperate network cards in each one and hook them together with a hub..
