I guess because I've use dwindows for so long, I've come to expext different results from the same action. After I copied the contents of EQ host (see above post). I decided, What the hell, I'll try again. WOOT! I actually played for about 15 min before it locked on me.
Big Grin! Thanks guys, I'm a 7 year vetran of EQ. Been without for bout 6 months now. Thanks for the fix. If any of you get any ideas about what prevented me from logging in or why it changed, please share them. Meantime I'm gonna see if the server has timed me out so I can get back in.
