Another chime in with Vista working. I run Vistax64 and about all I had to do was set XP compat on the shortcut and close down the sidebar while I'm playing EQ.

However I also have UAC turned off (worst idea ever by a software co.) and defender and all that other CPU cycle hogging crap.

Gotta be a vid card driver issue.

Sounds like you are probably having the resolution issue. Try editing your eqclient.ini to use another resolution, or run the eqconfig program for changing your settings outside of the game. Once you change your resolution, it should let you get in just fine. Let us know if you need anymore help than that to get your resolution set. I am pretty sure this is your issue.

Of course, you can also try looking at your EQ logs and see if they give any useful info. And also check to make sure that you have at least 500MBs of RAM (preferrably 800+MBs) that is free. Spybots and Adwares can max out your memory and if you don't have enough, EQ will do exactly what you are describing.

I spoke too soon, I click on a server to log in and when EQ starts loading it throws memory cannot be read error. Even when it is run as administrator.

P.S.- I wish they would turn off the whole post edit lockout thing because this is getting drawn out.

What I did was to go into the eq folder and set ALL exe files to Windows XP SP2 compatibility. Go to the folder and right click on white space in the folder and sort by type. Go to where ALL of the exe files are and set them all to WINDOWS XP SP2 compatibility. Worked for me.
