Default Server connection problems, checked many threads first

I posted a few weeks ago about having an issue connecting to any server and it turned out to be a dual core issue (thanks trevius) which i have fixed (or so i thought)

My problem is this- when i select my server and try to click play, 70% of the time my computer acts as if it will load, then stops, the window widens to full screen, and then back to its normal size (which is about half my screen) and im back at login. Sometimes i can get in on the first try, sometimes the 5th, sometimes i sit at my computer for an hour and get nothing. I have multiple characters on my server because i can get in and play if i try long enough (but tonight i tried for an hour and got nothing). Once i am in game everything run relatively smoothly.

My copy of titanium is real, fresh install, no patching, changed files etc etc.
I am running EQ in a lower resolution.
The server is good (RZ/TZ, the classic pvp, its on the preferred list).
I have already fixed dual core issues (changed EQemu to run in compatibility mode for windows 98, set my computer to run on cool n quiet, downloaded get and set affinity so i can change the affinity of EQemu to 0).

My theory is that I either 1) did not fix the dual core issue completely and i can get the emu to work sometimes as a fluke 2) that my internet is slow enough that the servers think im LD or 3) that my video card might be the problem (because of the screen resizing). I have a 9600 GT with latest drivers. I have satellite internet and i recently downloaded a TCP optimizer to try to fix the problem but that didnt work.

Any ideas would be great!!!

You could try upgrading to XP SP3 if you haven't already. That has a fix in it for multi core issues that is required to get things working perfectly.

You could also try messing with your windows resolution and EQ resolutions and see if that makes any difference.

I had a similar problem once when I was using a monitor with an odd resolution. I had to make sure the resolution in the .ini file exactly matched the desktop resolution.
