Default Order of Hasson problem or just me?

when ever i've been trying to log in for the last 16 hours or so, i tried logging on 2 accounts that got kicked, thought maybe i was already logged in so i couldn't so i created a new account entirely and still the same thing, i get to the log in screen hit enter world and i get "you have been disconnected" message. i tried logging on other servers and it works just fine... any thoughts?

and if you happen to play hasson please tell either Greenmistlolz or Tissi that bard can't log in : / (maybe they can fix it)

thanks.

Green here.

I'm not seeing any of your accounts online, so it's possible that it's something client side. Just as a test, try going into your EQ folder and finding these three files:

Character_OoH.ini
UI_Character_OoH.ini
eqclient.ini

Substitute your character name for 'character' above.

Once you have those three files, move them out of your EQ directory and somewhere else. Drop 'em on your desktop, even. Then try loading up EQ and logging in. See if that helps.

I have already reset, yes. I see you're trying to log in now, hopefully you'll have some luck. Post back or PM me if there's more I can help with.

I finally got a chance to log on (work has been busy today) and I saw both of your characters on and AFK flagged. I bet that was your issue. Just did a #kick of each. Try now, and sorry. Not sure how they got stuck like that.

Hey Green,

I had this issue today as well. One of my two accounts went down and it said my char was still on. Someone kicked that char off and I was able to get back in. But later on I lost internet connection and went LD. Since then (6 hours or so) it won't let me back in from the character selection screen.

My two chars are Smashu and Dhakkan. Maybe you can kick them back off and hope it doesn't happen to me again as my internet goes in and out sometimes.

Thanks!

It's because of the limit on IP-connections, Once you have one in, then load a box, and /quit,/exit, or ctrl-alt-delete, you ghost, theres a fix somewhere around here but I don't remember which thread. It is all because of the limit connection that it says disconnected!

Now I can't log either of my accounts into the server. If anyone sees this then let one of the GM's know that Dhakkan and Smashu needs to be kicked from the server. Sucks not being able to get in!

Thanks!

Sounds like with the current version of the emulator, you probably have to have a server running on Linux to be able to use the IP Limiter without risking running into the player ghosting issue causing players issues with logging in.

I would recommend disabling that rule for now until you can switch to Linux. Either that, or you could try something like my zone resetter script (in the custom quests section) to reset zones on a timer, which will clear out any player ghosts.

Or, if someone could look at the IP limiting code and make sure that it will not start doing the limiting checks until after a player is logging in a character (once the player starts logging in the same character from character select, it should boot the ghost out). If it did the check after it booted the character out, it should clear up this issue. But, that might require considerable changes to the IP Limiting code.

Yeah, finding that out. It doesn't seem to play nicely with players who crash or lag out. And the ghosting issue (and EQEmu in general) don't seem to play well with Windows servers, which is the only option right now.

They'd typically be kicked when they come back into the world, but the IP limiting is forcing that to be an issue.
