What I did was to go into the eq folder and set ALL exe files to Windows XP SP2 compatibility. Go to the folder and right click on white space in the folder and sort by type. Go to where ALL of the exe files are and set them all to WINDOWS XP SP2 compatibility. Worked for me.

I believe that memory error was something I had as well.
I changed the res. in the options when logging in screen appears, set the res. window around 800x600 or so in the settings. I checked on all the settings like sound, mip mapping and tex. quality to high.

This worked for me.

Ha HA! Thank you George! I think it was texture compression that is the only thing I didn't check.

so did you get this issue resolved? I had the same problem..err have.

But i open eqclient and the list is short..from what I remember in there.

check it:

[Defaults]
Sound=TRUE
TextureQuality=1
VertexShaders=TRUE
20PixelShaders=TRUE
14PixelShaders=TRUE
1xPixelShaders=TRUE
MultiPassLighting=FALSE
UseLitBatches=TRUE

thats all thats in there.

I was going to try to set the resolution like a few suggested in this thread, but it is not in there.
