My laptop was doing the same thing. It turned out some of my EQ folder got patched. So I had to reload from the CDs. Not sure if doing the same will help you but it may be worth a shot.

Ya, if you have tried multiple servers and they all do that, then you almost certainly have the wrong version of EQ. If you are using an illegal downloaded version, then you should go out and purchase a legal copy of EQ Titanium. The best 20$ you can spend.
