Thanks again for the input. Since the Emu uses the Titanium release client, I would be almost sure the client executable no longer allows it.
In fact there is another thread somewhere around here where someone mentions the "effect wearing off the next tick" and that's kind of where I'm getting stuck.
I can make a custom item that has the warrior defensive as an "effect". I then change the spell "defensive_discipline" to be available to the paladin at level 1. What happens is, the effect fires, my client issues the "you assume a defensive fighting style" then the very next tick it wears off, and I even get the message. I can only assume that my client making a check and saying... hey you can't use defensive... BZZZZT.
I'm hoping there is a duration check, or even something that's causing the effect to wear off due to level, but I think it's going to on the client.
Oh well, here's hoping the client source leaks out someday... we can hope.
