Yea, speaking of being banned..

Right. This guy on my server (non pvp) goes and trades me 5 bags of stuff. He apparently meant to trade it to someone else, but the dumbass didn't look at the name, clicked trade, and so did I. I logged out after that, was going to anyways. He didn't say anything at the time. Actually I thanked him.
Heh so yea it was about 150K worth of stuff it turns out. And then he and his friends go and bitch at everyone around, everyone in the guild, etc and they are all calling me a thief even before I ever said anything.
So a GM pulls up, and not a guide, the head honcho GM dude. He says that I either give the stuff back or he puts a warning on my account. Well, because the idiot that hit trade was such a basterd I said no way. He put a warning on my account, for no other reason other than the fact that he thinks I should give back the stuff. I didn't abuse a bug or exploit, so this is ridiculous.
So I used the web form and I contested the warning and requested a name change. Was going to request a name change anyways.
So this same GM gets the web form post, tells me no name change will be done EVER and that he will not take off the warning.
I ask him how to contact his Manager. He ignores me. I ask again. I then ask for his phone number. I ask who else I can talk to. He finally replies after days, and says that if I don't stop e-mailing him he will warn my account again for GM Harassment. What an asshole.
I was very polite in all my e-mails to him, I explained my views on the topic, and he's just a prick.
No wonder why there's never any GM events. They are too busy abusing their power.
I'm not a 15 year old kid. I'm not going to let him think he is god. I am going to call any and everyone I can to get his ass on the burner for this. Maybe nothing will happen, but I'm sure if I make enough phone calls and send enough e-mails to the upport e-mail address they will at least question him about it.
These people forget that we pay for EQ. It's not cheap, it's $10 a month. That's almost half the cost of the Cablemodem. Not to mention the game and the Luclin expansion cost about $70 right now. This is an entertainment service not unlike Cable Television. It is NOT a privelige to play EQ, you PAY for it.

These are the reasons that I think something like EQEmu would be a lot of fun. There could be different servers with different rules, more of a friendly atmosphere, and you're not paying for it month to month.
As long as people can contain their temptations to give cool stuff to all their friends and anyone that begs enough, and not ban people over nothing (even the morons), EQEmu will rule.
