Quick question

I was wondering if anyone would know why when I get to the character select screen loading in why my computer lags really bad and locks up untill I close eq...It just recently started doing it out of the blue I wasnt sure if that was a result in a Graphics card issue or more ram needed if anyone is familiar with this could you give me a solution please?
