Default No servers showing up

I got EQ Titanium, made all the necessary adjustments, but now when I run EQ off my new shortcut and log into my account using my EQemu acct. info no servers show up on the list. How do I remedy this/connect to the server I wish to play on? Thanks for the help!

What Operating System are you running? I think Vista and Vista 64 both have some issues with it that you might need to make more adjustments for. Also, are you running this from your house, or from somewhere else like a college dorm or work? You might want to make sure you aren't blocking port 5998 either on your router or with a Firewall or anything like that.

I use Vista, and I'm running it at my house. Is there any sort of diagnostic I can run where you'd be able to figure out what is wrong? Or anything that's worked for others? Thanks!

The FAQ in my sig has a few suggestions. I would try messing with resolutions of EQ and maybe of your desktop as well. But, also maybe changing your compatibility mode would help. It is explained further in the FAQ though.

I am experiencing the same problem as of last night, but I have been playing eqemu on vz/tz server for the last 6-8 months...Any idea what might have caused this to happen on a machine that was running the game just fine?

I've tried running in all my different compatibility options, changed the resolution of EQ, and tried putting my PC on the lowest resolution possible nothing's working. Does it make any difference that I'm playing with a monitor hooked up to a laptop? (I wouldn't think so, but you never know.)

Strangely enough I can see the server list with a couple leeched wireless signals, but cannot see the list with my own cable internet.. even when connected right to the box.

Maybe some ISPs are starting to block port 5998 sometimes for some various reason. It might be worth investigating with your ISP to see if they do or not. I think there may also be some port scanner sites out there that you might be able to use to see if 5998 is open to your connection.

Normally when people see issues with port 5998, it is because they are going through a proxy and the proxy is set to block that particular port or port range. This would normally be for people in college campuses, hotels, airports, or in the work place. Normally a regular home connection should not have issues with ports unless the ISP itself was causing them. Though, it could also be a problem with some type of antivirus or firewall program on your PC that is doing it.

Maybe you guys should start posting the name of your ISP provider. If you all use the same one, I would call them up and give them one heck of an earful!

after trying eq emu out with my laptop at my friends house... who has the same ISP..... and got it working.. I realized that the problem must lie in my cable internet box. Mine was like 8 years old....... sure it worked fine for everything else, but for some reason it wasn't allowing me to see servers on eq emu.

Anyways, I just got it replaced with a new one from the ISP, and bam, servers first try every time. Finally resolved.

Sometimes routers can do weird stuff with ports and DNS. If anyone else sees this same issue again, I would highly suggest trying to power off your modem and router at the same time, and then power on the modem, wait for it to connect and then power on your router. Then, maybe even reboot your PC to be sure everything is fresh. Let us know if that fixes this problem so I can add it to the FAQ.
