Default Alternate Advancement Window Issue

I've made it through the server setup, started getting familar with the database etc... and I noticed in game the AA menu is completely messed up.

There is only 1 tab - General. It appears as though all AA's are listed under this tab instead of being seperated out amoug thier intended tabs. Furthermore, towards the bottom of the list, the names of the AA's are stating "unknown...".

I used the most recent version of the client and database 1129rev703.

I've searched the forums and wiki with no success, if an answer to this does exist can someone please point me to the location?

Thanks guys!

Apparently this is not something with just my server... I logged onto the grand creation server and the window appears the same. So - I'm thinking it must be something with my client as not actually and issue with the servers.

In this case, I have installed SOF. It has not been patched and my OS (winxp) is a fresh install (got rid of vista which came on the laptop, couldn't handle it anymore).

Any thoughts? Something I can do to correct this? I previously ran titanium and I don't recall this being an issue.

AA's are not finished in the SoF client, so they will show all those unknown DB string errors until the table for AAs in SoF is completed. Most of them still work, they just show up like that.

Default thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I've found it... somewhat difficult to locate all the "current" correct information as there have been so many changes as the project continues to evolve. These are in addition to the questions such as, can I use mysql 5.4? ... it's more recent - it should work right? Nope. You need 5.0 for compatibility reasons. This same issue goes for Perl, more recent builds are not better.

Great work so far to all those who have contributed. I look forward to lending my assistance to the project in the future.

Yeah, SoF AAs is one of the biggest remaining issues in SoF IMO. We are still working on it. While working on a permanent solution for them the other night with AndMetal, I came up with a very simple temporary solution that should make them 100% functional and purchaseable. The solution is just to send the title and desc of another AA in place of the upgraded version AA info. This should actualy work really nicely, and I will get it on the SVN as soon as I get back from vacation. I don't want it to become the permanent solution though. I will also try to put up a couple simple SQL lines that will separate out the AAs better.
