a blink and a freeze

Right after I click connect to server(any server).
It blinks, then freezes and after a few seconds non responsive in task manager.
I followed the getting started and changed all host files and followed each step but if anyone has any idea's that'd be much appreciated.

ps running dual core(xp) and anniversary install.

As well to the prior issue I can no longer even log in to server selection, gets a connection cannot be established error.. =/

Anniversary is not supported.

You need either Titanium (Retail Discs), Secrets of Faydwer (Retail Discs), or Seeds of Destruction (Steam Version)
