1st lesson... Never by anything from a local computer store (Best Buy, CompUSA). You will get rooked unless they have a stupendous deal going on.

pricewatch.com is the best place for looking for stuff, alot of the guys there aren't making any money on single items hoping you'll order other things from them to make up the difference in offering one item really low to get your business. I'd go directly to newegg.com , those guys are great all around. Good prices, and I've never had any problems RMA'ing to them.

If money is a concern that is, if it's not, buy it wherever ya want.

I havent used an ATI Rage in about 3 years now, it barely ran the 1st version of EQ. When I had a hardware company, we would spec out the ATI Rage's to business customers who didnt really care about graphics performance, anyone that cared would get a Voodoo/TNT (at the time that is). The ATI Rage Pro LT was never designed for a gaming market.

I agree with Image, I bought a cheap Nvidia2 MX400 like a year ago for 90$, and that was from a local vendor as I had to have a card for my linux box, and I couldnt wait to mailorder. You should be able to get a 2 dirt cheap, but I'd go ahead and fork out the extra dough for at least a GF3.
