Default a couple of points (or more)

First, notice that the patching happens before you login to the account. So the two parts are separate.

But, also eqgame patchme should allow you to run the client without needing to patch -- at least thats the way it worked for me the other day using the HQ emu.

As usual, I recommend that you make a copy of you EQ directory to try things out, if you have the disk space for it. And try eqgame patchme to see if that gets you going. You may also have to experiment with eqw 2.1 and eqw 2.2.

If this build works as cleanly with SoL as I expect it will, this is going to be a very nice change. Very nice indeed.

just finished the dl and see that the install guide has changed. I see that they recommend eqw 2.2 -- 2.1 won'r run with SoL.


I am not wild about using a login server that is not part of my own network, but right now that seems to be the only working way to get things going.
