Default Perl510.dll missing, server is not launching

Hello all-

I am attempting to build a server and have followed all of the directions from Vales and a few others pages and filled in the blanks where I think I have needed to but I am having an issue when I run my startserver.bat.

World fails because it cannot find perl510.dll and when I go to the c:\perl directory i see perl512.dll.

Just messing around I renamed this to perl510.dll and my server loaded further and then I got an error saying it was looking for perl512.dll. In the eqlaunch.exe window I see an error saying World told us to run....but its already running

I made a copy of the dll and named it perl512.dll and now zone crashes.

So i changed everything back and I guess now my problem is that I dont know why i do not have perl510.dll.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's likely because you downloaded perl 5.12 instead of perl 5.10 -- that's my guess though.

You need to go to activestate's website and download perl 5.10

Default Thanks

Thank you for your response, that makes sense :p

Going to ActiveState's web site, I only find 5.12 and 5.14. I have looked around for 5.10 but cannot seem to find it unless I purchase one of the business versions which gives me access to older versions of Perl.

***EDIT***

I actually found Strawberry Perl 5.10 and that seems to have worked, I am not getting any errors. It looks like my startserver.bat is working but when I go to log into the server it is saying that server cannot be found. I am using the shortcut I made on my desktop for the eqluancher patchme

I have set the eqhost file to
[LoginServer]
Host=127.0.0.1:5998

Anything you can think of that I am missing or where to look. I will go back through the setup guides again but I think I am almost there.

Thanks!

Sorry to keep posting but I saw that Minilogin was listening on port 5999 so I switched my eqhost to that port instead of 5998, but I had read somewhere for the version of EQ that I am running, purchased from Steam, I would need to use that port.

Now when I login it is just stuck on "Logging into server please wait"

Do I need to set Minilogin to listen on 5998 and change the eqhost file back or I am missing something else?

Thanks!

Minilogin is unsupported by us. Set up EQEmuLoginServer.

If you are unable to figure that out...

From what i've heard Minilogin does work if you change around the opcodes. You can check GeorgeS' website (http://www.georgestools.eqemulator.net/) for the version of minilogin that does work.
