Ok I did as Shawn said with the localhost in the world address and used the files configed as shown above. I start minlogin.exe, the world.exe, then the boot5zones.bat. I waited for each to fully complete before starting each process. I then ran EQLogin. It asked me where everquest lived and I pointed to eqgame.exe. I then selected the option to run the server as local using old defaults I think it was. Basically if you use the new default it tries 15999 as the default port for the login server where as the old uses 5999. I click on the "everquest" button at the bottom. It gives me a pop up saying eqgame return a code of 24 and I hit ok. Then I get to the login and do eqemu eqemu to get in. I select my server and it loads all the textures and such. Finally I got a character select screen and I created a new char. I hit login and in a few minutes later I was in EQ. Only real problem I have been having is ocassionally the server will disconnect on me after a few seconds; especially if I don't make any movements or commands. I also had an issue with oasis where I did a #zone oasis and a few min later I was disconnected. I log back in only to be disconnected again. I looked at one of the zone logs and it was saying it couldn't find some oasis.cfg , it returned an opcode and then shut down the zone.

I got the EQlogin.zip from here: http://www.geocities.com/scruffyeq/

The link to eqw.zip from the files area has been down for days so I searched the board for another method to start EQ and found a post with the link.

Do a search for EMULaunch. I tried to post the link but the board software didn't like the question mark in it.

If there is any more info you need please let me know.
