Default Trying to switch from Titanium to Underfoot

I am having a bunch of trouble trying to switch from Titanium to Underfoot.

I started off buying UF off steam, and copied over the files from Titanium to make my spells/monk abilities show up. For some reason all of my monk abilities suddenly wouldn't activate (Kept saying I needed to be in combat to activate).

So I dug around and found out you need files from live too. Sadly my steam live version gave me a "LaunchPad.exe has stopped working" error right from the get go. I figured I screwed something up, so I completely deleted it from steam, went in and whiped the files from the folder, and reinstalled. The issue still pops up. I literally cannot launch live EQ.

Is there a download package or something out there for these files? It seems really pointless to upgrade to a full live client just for 40 4kb files, and now it's not even possible since this error message doesn't even come up on a google search. I don't know how I can fix that.

Having tasted the UF Client, I really hate going back to Titanium, and the server I am playing on (Storm Haven) Has so much inaccessible content.

Did your Steam install of EQ create a shortcut on your desktop when it installed? Is that how you are starting EQ, or are you using some other way? When playing on Live, make sure you don't edit the shortcut or anything like you would for EQEmu.

You might try moving your Steam download of EQ to another folder and making a new shortcut to Everquest.exe for the new location. If you are on Windows 7 or Vista, it can cause some weird issues with programs that are in your program files folder. I would suggest trying to move it right to your C: drive to something like "C:\Everquest_Live". Also, make sure you make another copy of your unpatched Steam EQ folder and name it something like "C:\Everquest_UF" so you don't overwrite your EQEmu play folder when you update to Live.

If all else fails, I think SOE has a launcher you can download that will download the entire client for you from their servers as long as you have an active Live login account.

I eventually did crack and just go that route. I now have a full live install ready. I ran into yet another issue though. I went with the "copy all of live over and dont replace anything" step at the bottom of the guide (http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ssingFilesList, swapped over the dbstr_us.txt (Which did have to replace something), launched the game, loaded my monk, and had a bunch of weird abilities in my combat abilities window instead, all with incorrect strings. My normal disciplines and stuff are fine, but on my titanium client I have stuff like rapid jab, heart strike, ect. They just aren't agreeing with this client at all. I got them to work that one time copying my titanium stuff over, but they wouldn't actually activate.

I wish I could just take the ui features from this, and the new zones, and run with titanium :p That never has issues.

Actually another thing, my Steam install does actually have the dbstr file already. I assumed I was replacing it with an older one, but the guide seems to make it sound like it isn't supposed to be included. Maybe UF recently patched or something? It might explain why this isn't working like it should.

Maybe this will help

The abilities finally show up after manually transfering the spell/db files over, plus copy pasting all of titanium into my UF without replacing anything.

I can't actually activate them though. It says I need to be in combat. I am definitely attacking that drake, and it definitely says im in combat in the left corner of the screen, so I'm stumped.

Is this just a single file? Or are these monk abilities Titanium only?

Disciplines work, but all my rapid jabs/ect are broke.

Oh, double checking it, it looks like it says I can't use my combat ability in combat :p, so I guess that's 2 error messages! I have to be in combat, but can't be in combat.

Looks like the custom spell file for Stormhaven fixed it! I figured I'd throw caution to the wind and try that out, worked like a charm. back to the levelin!
