Default Stupid bugs?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but anyways....

I am trying to set the eqhost.txt to a server here but everytime i attempt to save it i get a messages saying "access denied" any ideas on how i can get around it?

I believe you have to run it as Admin by right clicking the icon. You can search "eqhost.txt" and this has been addressed before in case my answer is not right.

as for the running it as an admin its a .txt document... i don't even have the option of doing so

Just copy the eqhost file to your desktop then make the needed changes and copy it back to its original location. Or you can disable UAC and give yourself administrative rights. Take your pick as either one will work.

You can't run notepad.exe as an admin? Perhaps you should contact your administrator.

or you could follow the advice posted all over this forum to not install EQ to Program Files.....

Caryatis may be umm ?unfriendly? but his answer was 100% accurate.

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Notepad.

Right click the icon and run it as administrator. After you do this, open eqhost.txt in notepad. It is located at here for 64-bit:

or here for 32-bit.
