Sites commonly block ICMP traffic (ping is one example), so I wouldn't
take it personally.

sorry, i'm a bit ignorant when it comes to modem settings and need a little more hand-holding. I have a Motorola NVG510. Do I use NAT/gaming or Packet filters? i'm trying to find a guide to port forwarding on this modem but it seems like there's very little information out there.

Do not listen to noport.

Clean your pc up, and see what happens then.

Also, you said you're behind a proxy. Maybe your provider blocked Eqemu. I know my work sure did.

i wasn't clear before. my proxy settings are clear, I simply used hidemyass.com to access this website (it's a free in-browser proxy). i did this because i cannot access eqemulator.net at all otherwise. i do not have any proxy set up. i've run several malware scans and cleared temp files, history, temporary internet files, ran ccleaner, everything i can think of. ONLY eqemulator.net is broken, no other websites or domains.

I'm not sure how to answer this question. I have a limited understanding of networking. The hostname from this site reads 108-227-220-245.lightspeed.hstntx.sbcglobal.net. Is that what you meant?
