For the most part, I really enjoy this server. There are, however, a few things I've run into that are somewhat frustrating.
First, when I first saw that I could play as a dragon (as tiny as they are
), I jumped at the chance. Now, whenever I try to log in, I get a memory write error. Fine, no dragon for me. I can live with that.
So, after starting another account and playing for a bit, I've come across another issue that is preventing my progression. No matter how many times I kill Dread, Terror or Fright, my task never gets updated. I've noticed this happening with other mobs too, such as the necro theurgist and the Thaumaturgist in Befallen, or the commander in Blackburrow.
Speaking of critters, while fighting the acidic mass in the Accursed Temple of Cazic-Thule, I was never able to get it's health below 98%. There certainly could be some mechanic to the fight I'm missing, but I thought I'd throw that out there. The lava crawlers in Lavastorm Mountains show up as humans, as do the kobolds in the Caverns of Exile (probably my files).
Also, and I don't know if this has something to do with my files (again, most likely), but some zones are not updating their respective tasks when I venture into them. Innothule Swamp, Highpass Hold and sometimes Toxxulia Forest are the ones I've noticed so far. They have the updated zone graphics, and everything cons red and scowling. Toxxulia Forest shows up this way when I zone in from Paineel. If I port in directly or zone in from Erudin, it's the classic Toxxulia. This also happens in Freeport when I zone in from the Plane of Sky.
The reward tokens one receives from completing tasks become unselectable after zoning. I can work around this by trying to put another item on top of it and the two just exchange places on my cursor, although, I learned the hard way not to use another reward token when doing this as one of them gets eaten.
Anyway, I hope this helps. I really like the distinctive twist you've put on EQ and I appreciate the hard work involved, so, thank you. Hopefully, I'll be able to progress soon and see what other goodies you have in-store.
