Default Caster balance buff

Hi all,

Has anyone had any success in creating a buff spell to help increase spell damage (DD, DOT, AoE?) and healing (HOT, direct heals, group?)?

I have not had much success in getting them to work and stack properly.

My goal is to have a server buff that can be applied to help casters and healers to keep up with melee classes without having to edit every spell (as this would affect NPCs as well).

Anyone have any suggestions?

NPCs you can just use "healscale" and "spellscale" to scale their spells.

Players can use a buff like what you described though

Are you familiar with focus effects? That would be a good place to start. In regards to stacking, the stack rules are generally additive, selecting the highest worn + buff + AA.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

What does spellscale mean? Is that an entry in the DB?

And yes, I am familiar with focus effects and how they stack.

The issue is I would like a new buff that stacks with the worn and AA, and I am not having any luck getting a DD/DOT focus on a buff that works properly (or a heal/hot).

Was hoping someone might have an example?

Lazy way would be to just give a caster-only charm the "Improve all damage XX" line, and manually edit how much you want all their damage to multiply by. Sorry, I'm not nearly as gifted as the real OG coders, I'm lazy :/

EDIT: 'cept this doesn't work for heals. Sorry...

I seriously hate doing spells, however what you want is possible.
If I get the time and no one helps you faster I'll find a example.

As a followup, I edited the client damage and heal modifier in effects.cpp, works okay. Would be nice if I could code it to scale with levels or int or something, but that is beyond me!

Thanks again.
