Default 2 XP multiplier fields?

hello,
trying to understand the database.

I see two fields that claim to alter xp bonus.

Variables.EXPMOD

and

rule_values. Character.ExpMultiplier

can anyone help me understand which does what? are they redundant ? do they stack?

Thanks,

Variable's is obsolete (it was removed when rulevalues came in). Use the rulevalues one if you want to change the mod.

If I remember correctly, the only useful thing in the variables table is MOTD, as this allows you to change the MOTD in the database rather than with #motd.
