Default Its all about Supply and Demand

Ok im polling this up, really its a viable idea. It came from the castersrealm>everquest forums. I was reading through some of the threads and someone reminded me that EQ2 will be released this year. Now first to be the beta testers will be those who have subscribed to Legends. (i am contemplating subscribing back up for legends and helping in any way i can). Now hear me out. Everquest is a great game, love it in every aspect of its creation. Please answer poll honestly then add a comment as to why you chose it.

Everquest 2 has newer graphics, and that is a factor when considering game play. Also it is unexplored and would be a test of our Emu knowledge and abilities. I would like to see all the devs work together to emulate this game and let Everquest 1 stay the way it is already emulated. Get a decently working copy and leave it be. No more updates.

If you consider how long time it's taken to get EQemu to a working state, there'd be something way better out by the time we had a working EQ2 emulator. It's just the way MMORPG emulation is.

True, but also.. you have to realize that SOMEONE out there will emulate it. And we should find them and add any help to their cause that they need. We may have tired dev's but there are others out there that are ready and willing to crack it. Who are we to knock them

This is the EQemu project... Not EQ2Emu...

I dont think any of us are interested in dropping a project we've spent alot of time on...

Graphics are eye candy, who cares, its about the gameplay..

Sure, that makes sense.. Just drop the emulator the way it is, let it break in the next patch and screw it, so we can start working on an emulator for a product thats not released, might not be for a long while, and may end up being junk anyways...

I dont agree.. Let a new project start, if developers here want to work on it, thats there choice...

The only way for that to work well is if you made the emu work with the free everquest download SOE offers. That way you could always download an official "eqfix.zip" type thing. But i'd much rather have a good EQEmu and maybe someone else can make EQ2Emu.

I agree fully with that statement. I am not going to move to EQ2 just because of graphics, I want to see exactly what it can do gameplay wise. I also think that EQEmu should stick with EQ1. I might play EQ2, but if I move there, I still want to me able to play EQ1. I don't wanna pay for both EQ1 and EQ2. And an EQ2 emu will be FAR FAR in the future. Players will emulate it, thats a fact, but let others do it. I don't want to see EQ1Emu go down, I want it see it stay alive!

Heh, I'd say something about EQ2 Emulation but it could cause trouble.

I would say keep the emulation on EverQuest. If you look at ultima online, theres a hell of a lot of emulators. EQ had a few but most of them died out... HackersQuest coming back at a normal steady rate with EQEMu doing all of it.

It comes down to the game, if EQ2 is worth emulating, there most likely will be people interested in emulating it with the knowledge to do so.

But for my say, it'd have to wait. For the amount of people still playing EverQuest as EQ2 comes closer and more advanced MMORPGs come out the emulator is still a great idea.

Instead of splitting the devs up, they would probably find more devs. It could turn out to a Make a whole EverQuest Emulation project.. Including EQ and EQ2.

If anyone remembers there was EQ2 Emulation project that was waiting for the game, but was destroyed due to problems.

*Edit*
EverQuest2 will be a better game, not just because it has more up to date graphics.. but the general idea of MMORPG and fantasy will be put into it, not just run around kill shit and scam accounts... but like always that will be there.
