If yer haveing the same problem as i did, you get to server select, pick server then get error 1017. telling you to re run patcher, easy fix for me was, deleted all eqemu downloads and such, created a brand new copy of everquest in c directory, go back to the download of patcher, make triple sure yer loction for save is your everquest directory, once you've finished the download, go to install it, it will ask for the path/file to be installed, it will want to create a new folder/file for it's self, cant do that. click browse and assigne it to your directory again, after install in everquest folder the new patch icon should appear, run it and will auto install all needed updates, while updating yer files click the box Run EQ, wait for it to finish and yer set, EQEmu should start right up. if ya dont want to run it in full screen mode dont click run eq, just let it update and use EQW, just make sure ya change the Host.txt
and make sure the patch box option is un checked in EQW, that will connect to soe servers and mess up your download, and you will have to re patch
