Sounds like a problem with eqhost.txt recheck that, also it is possible the loginserver could have been down. If your eqhost.txt file is correctly pointing to login.eqemu.net then try again after some time.

Hmm see Shawn posted another address for a login server, you can also try eqlogin.cyberjunky.net instead of login.eqemu.net
