I went to mysql.com, d/led a 11meg program, I don't know wtf it is or how to use it. It's labeled mysql-3.23.49.tar. It's not executable nor is it a folder or anything, comes up as gibberish in notepad. Which file do I d/l exactly, could someone please tell me? Readme just says go to mysql.com and d/l a copy of mysql...

.tar combines several files into one, without compressing them. You can extract the files using Winzip 8.1 which is available here -----> Winzip 8.1

You can download the evaluation version FREE.

Is that the same file you d/led in order to get EQEmu you to work?

If you downloaded a *.tar file it is a pretty good bet you downloaded the version for linux. There is a windows version for download, and it should be a *.zip file.

Ahhh, ok, thanks Lurk, let me see if I can find it, if someone has the time and can pinpoint the exact loc, would really appreciate it if you posted, all that linux/win stuff is driving me insance, been on MYSQL site for damn near 2 hours already.

I have the windows version at my site. http://www.shownomercy.net or else you can get it from www.mysql.com, it's on the download page just scroll down past the *nix section and you will find several Windows versions you can download.
