Edit: Nevermind, I just saw your screenshots.

The property window on the left probably only counts the files and folders, while the HDD property window also counts hardware related stuff, maybe things like the "directory" of the harddisk. (What's the word for FAT (file allocation table) on NTFS?)


There's a difference between the actual file size and how much bytes a file uses on the HDD (a cluster isn't always used completely by a file, therefore using more space than needed; that's why games with 15000 data files are BAAAD).

When selecting all files Windows should tell you both values: File size and file size on HDD. One of them should match.

To me it's somewhat unlikely that you can lose 2 GB by this when there's only a total of 17/19 GB used, but if you have a lot of small files it may be possible.
