Here's an idea... precalculate all of this in an application that allows you to walk through a zone and set mob motion and such, that way it's as accurate as normal, but the server doesn't get bogged down by doing these extremely expensive calculations.

Right now I'm working on a tool to manipulate placable objects, and after that mobs, but perhaps I'll work on this after all that.
