Default Update ETA?

I hope not to piss you devs off. This is not why I'm posting. Anyways, the reason why I'm posting is that I wish to check up on EQ and my characters. The only problem is that the patch will break EQemu. So I'm just curious, is this a reguler patch whereas it'll take less than a month to fix or is it a large patch where it'll take several months to fix. I appreciate your time if you post back and please dont respond with "OMG STFU N00B DONT ASK". Thanks.

Look under the Do Not Patch thread in the News section. If you read it you will find out that EQEmu does work with latest patch.

Also, if you just want to be safe, you can create a second folder and backup your files.... I'd say to always keep a backup just in case. Don't want to miss out on playing if you accidentally break it.

It "works" up to the 23rd for sure, although there may have been a few opcodes changed.

So it's possible to patch and still play EQ without waiting? P.S. I have a second folder.

Yep, it looks like it does work with a current patch.... I would keep a back up just in case though.

I patched today (31st March) and just changed EQHost.txt, can connect fine to 5.5 servers. Not tried hosting my own, but it appears that everything is working correctly with latest patch. Keep a backup though, just to be safe :P
