I would agree that Pre-Luclin was the best time I had in EQ. Travel actually meant some time investment, so people would tend to hunt the same areas for extended times. Yuo could find the same people day after day in your zone and get to know them. This Is how my EQ-community was built. Would be pretty simple to get Pre-Luclin setup going, maybe even a 30-60 server, Velious only. Start in Iceclad or something and have a level 30 vendor with gear to get started. I would certainly play on a Velious server, something about the "feel" of that continent with all the white and blue, just a cool spot to play in..
