PEQ : need high level zones to be collected

if you don't know Project Everquest, its goal is to recreate an eqlive like complete database, with all true monsters, quests, encounters, and pathing

we get all the data with the program eqcollector which create logs from datas that are sent by the server when you are playing

we need people who have eqlive chars and who are high level enough and have flags to collect these zones for us :
- solusek ro tower
- pofire
- poair
- poeartha
- poearthb
- powater
- potimea
- potimeb

I can collect from all those zones, what exactly do I need to do?

1rst download last eqcollector here :
http://eqcollector.com/HQ/news

install it, edit config.dat to specify your EQ directory

run it
go into tools/collector
in the upper right of the window, uncheck login and world, just check zone so only the zone datas will be caught

then launch everquest

go in these zones when there is no players there
( if there is always people there, choose a time when there is less players )
sit in a safe spot, aggro nothing, fight nothing, just wait like 30/35 minutes
then zone out, you'll have what we call a pathing log of the zone
it will appear in the eqcollector log window

when you have finished collecting, quit everquest first

then go into eqcollector
choose the log, check rename, uncheck all others, then hit process, it will rename the log
uncheck rename, and check create text dump, hit process, it will create a txt log, it is what we need =)

go in the eqcollector log directory on your hard drive
rename the log like this :
your name-name of the zone-pathing-comments.txt
in the comments specify if there is something special to know, for example if there is the boss of the zone up =)
zip it with the same name

then go in this site :
http://www.peqserver.com/view_files.php?filter=sql

there is a list of zones we need =) ( log-dump/zone status section )

register if you are not, it is needed to upload something

then go in log-dump/upload logs
and upload your logs

that's all =)

we also need raid logs of high level encounters like for example a raid against xegony or fenning ro or those of potime

it is different than pathing logs because to get them you just need to raid while eqcollector is running

try to not die to get only 1 log of the whole event

you can get those logs too by just sitting at a safe spot while someone is raiding in the zone too =)

don't forget to specify it is a raid log in the name and when uploading it

Alright Sandy, I will give it a shot this weekend. I have a 65 Cleric in the strongest guild on the server, but they don't do PoP much anymore, they are focussing on GoD raid encounters, they have pretty much everything from PoP, but I am flagged for all the zones including all of the GoD zones. I'll log on and go exploring, maybe sit in some zones while other guilds are raiding PoP.

that is the zone status page. up to date status of all uploaded logs both approved and unapproved.

*they are set to approved after we compile and test them.

You do need an account to upload them. )

We appeciate any help you and anybody else can give. I have a 65 bard but am not flagged for the higher PoP zones. i've been collecting everything else that i can get into.

Another one i think we need is the planes. Hate, Growth, maybe more.

jezebelle, got your potimeb log, but unfortunately it was corrupted. i tried opening it in winzip and winrar =( error.

can you please try reuploading. make sure you are creating the archive with winzip to make it easier. )

You wouldn't happen to know anybody that's tunare faction and high enough to go in pogrowth to collect would ya? that's what we need to do for growth, it's more simple than the others )

Soto, I took a look at your page and it looks VERY nice. I did notice that some of the large number of collects I did aren't in there. I have a clean pathing on Dreadlands, clean Charkok, etc.

Do you need them again?
