Default Old Music

The thread about the old sky got me thinking. Does anyone know which files have the music for the zones and for combat? I'd love to go back to the old combat music from the original release. I see that the new music is in 'combat.mp3'.

But does anyone know where it was in the release, when there weren't MP3's on the CD? And if I were to delete the combat.mp3, would it play?

I am not sure what file they are in but they are in a file and if u take the midi's and convert them to .mp3 delete say comabat.mp3 and replace it with the converted Midi and name it the same thing it would play that instead of the new music ^_^

I just finished remastering the entire EQ soundtrack. I'd post it up for everyone if i had a host, but I don't. However, if you want a copy, feel free to IM me and i'll be happy to send it to you.

Keep in mind, its anywhere from 40-60mb, so you'll want broadband

nice. its to bad you have to do it that way though, that means you cant make your server play old music without everyone downloading 60 megs of the midi's in mp3 format.

Default all you need to do is

There are quite a few things you can do to get a more classic eq feel.

1 Music

Use xmitools to rip the original midis from the xmidi files.
Use itunes to convert to mp3. both free
Next replace eqtheme, combattheme1 and combattheme2.
Your all set dont ever patch those as the patcher will overwrite.
The client still plays original music in cities and such so the file size is very small you only need to replace 3 files.

Take note of the location next find the loading screen you want to replace it with I use the kunark loading screen.
Extract the loading screen you want and place it somewhare you can find it.
Next brows back to the ugly loading screen and use eqinside to replace the file with the one you want.
Repack the file using eqinside and your done there should be a file save option.
Now the loading screen is just all black with a loading bar when i try to customize it. /sigh good thing i made a backup.
