ok its kinda wierd. you cant backspace to correct anything it just moves like a left arrow...

check your terminal settings, not a 5.0 issue

If you use telnet, you have some local echo setting checked. Somewhere, you are letting it echo locally, even though the server is echoing it.

just command prompt then telnet (ip) 9000

then i log in...

Yeah, the settings are in the Terminal menu, under Preferences. Uncheck Local Echo.

ok Sorry to beat this dead horse but...

I have searched the microsoft help for the Terminal menue for XP, i can't seem to locate it. been all over network connections and help for telnet commands. If anyone knows where to locate it please let me know.

I should just take some networking classes or something.

You should use SecureCRT

windows telnet is a flaming hunk of crap...
